Is brunch supposed to be endless?

Let's talk about brunch. I was chatting with my grandparents and discussing brunch- dont ask me why. My grandfather was of the opinion that brunch implies there will be  buffet style service, but with breakfast foods like pans of eggs and sausages. My grandma and I were of the belief that the word simply refers to a meal eaten between the times one normally eats breakfast and lunch.  Is brunch usually served buffet style? Or does it just mean eating breakfast around ten or eleven instead of first thing?

But opinions vary widely on every topic. For example, I prefer drinking iced coffee no matter how bone chilling the temperature might be. Some of my friends find that weird, but iced coffee is just very good and I don’t have the patience to wait for my hot coffee to be cool enough to drink.

And then there are politics. Whether that be small town politics where you personally know and often converse with politicians, or the highly visible and vocal national version.

But I won't get into politics.

I got on this topic because of my recent conversation about “brunch.” And what I think is most important about opinions is that we should be respectful of them. While my grandfather believes that brunch should be served as a buffet and I believe brunch should be served mid-morning, I still respect his belief that he should have his brunch eggs set out for endless grazing.

I mean, who wouldn't want that?

While everyone has their own opinions, especially on how their eggs should be served, I feel like some people are  slow to realize that even though there are lot of perspectives, that doesn’t mean any one of them has to take precedence over the others. As for me, I have to admit that, when the topic is unfamiliar to me, I sometimes simply accept someone else’s opinion rather  than use the time and energy to research the subject and form my own. That has changed a bit since I began college, though. I feel like here, especially in the Cities, everyone is mostly respected for having their own opinions and beliefs, which I am glad for. I hope everyone experiences opinion freedom in their life.
