Wishing WHS students a very good summer

Congratulations to the class of 2023 and to all Waseca Public Schools’ students and staff for completing a successful school year. Our students accomplished a great deal academically, as well as socially and with activities and athletics. I am excited to see the impact these young people have on our community as they head into the summer break. 

Although summer does allow for time to rejuvenate, there are also a great many activities happening in our buildings throughout the year that give students the chance to stay connected. Summer academic programming has started, along with camps, activities, practices, and community education classes. It is fair to say we rarely have an empty day on the calendar without kids to keep us motivated. 

Additionally, our staff is spending time preparing for next year, attending professional development, planning for their courses and instruction, or using their time with students this summer to help guide their work this fall. Administration is working on schedules and finalizing staffing to ensure the highest quality experience for students when they return this fall. Operations directors such as technology and buildings and grounds are also in their busiest seasons working on things over the summer when there is additional flexibility. 

We hope all of our students, staff, and families have an enjoyable summer, and you the time to spend to with family and friends to take advantage of the season. Especially after the winter we endured, summer is a welcome change. Have a great summer break and we look forward to seeing our Blue Jays this fall or sometime during the summer!
