Baked on 15th makes its debut at Waseca Farmers' Market

Mackenzie Johnson, the proprietor of “Baked on 15th” set up a booth at the Waseca Farmers’ Market for the first time the morning of July 4. Johnson, 28, sells sourdough and baked treats from a stand located along 15th Street NE in Owatonna. “We stock it three Fridays a month at 2 p.m.,” she elaborated. “It’s across from the Owatonna middle school, and I do pretty good from there. I also sell cookies, scones, bagels and cinnamon rolls. Currently my monster cookies are the only thing I make that do not have any sourdough in them. Everything else is sourdough related.

 

“My menu doesn’t have a lot of items on it. The things I do have I’m sticking with for now.” Johnson mentioned she typically posts her products for the stand on Facebook so buyers can have an idea before they arrive. She also fills special orders; interested buyers can send their requests via Facebook Messenger.https://www.facebook.com/profile.phpid=61587112271428. She said her plans as summer progresses are to continue at the Waseca Farmers Market and keep her stand stocked; once that’s working well, she might expand to the Medford market for now, but said, “I have been eyeing the Medford Farmers Market, but I’ll see how that goes later on this summer.”
