Dahle takes over for Dahle

With the announced retirement of principal LeAnn Dahle from Sacred Heart Elementary School in Waseca in April of 2022, Sacred Heart teacher Chris Dahle stepped into the position July 1st for the upcoming 2022 school year. 

Dahle has been a teacher for about ten years after his time in the service as a Platoon Sergeant in the marines, spending six and a half years in the reserves and half a year in active duty. The instruction and teaching involved with the marines inspired Dahle to become a teacher. He got his degree at the College of St. Scholastica along with a teaching license and master's degree. After a horrible first day teaching because the kids knew that Dahle was new, he found a love for the profession and kept on wanting to teach. Dahle started with a year at Hartley, long term subbing at WEM and finally landing at Sacred Heart teaching 3rd grade for five years and 4th grade for two. As for the principal position, Dahle thinks it seems like a natural progression although he expresses how much he is going to miss the classroom. 

LeAnn, former principal at the school for twenty years, is there to help Dahle as he moves into this role and challenge. With supportive staff working at the school, Dahle’s first goal and short term plan is to just do things as Leann would do along with continuing her legacy. As someone who has been at the Sacred Heart School for multiple years now, Dahle believes that it was his duty to this place to step into this role and with the help and encouragement from LeAnn, become an outstanding administrator like she was. 

With the new school year around the corner, Dahle and the 15 staff of teachers, paras, and new fourth-grade teacher Emily Myer, are busy getting ready and preparing with workshops, training, and professional development days to get ready for the 100 kids coming into Sacred Heart for the school year.
