JWP junior high math league competition

On Wednesday, February 25, 40 JWP junior high students competed at the annual 6-7-8 math league competition.  

 

The day started with the fact drill competition.  Sixth grader Nash James won the competition by posting a perfect score of 75!  

 

Following the fact drill, each individual completed a grade specific booklet.  The top five scores from each grade will be sent to Math League to compete against other schools in both Minnesota and the rest of the United States.  The results will be posted in the coming months.

 

The top scorers from each grade:

 

Sixth Grade:

Felix Fellows, Nash James, Avery Hammett, Colton Budahn, and David Adams.

Seventh Grade: Charlotte Haekenkamp, Jackson Ling, Brody Bronstad, Waylon Schuch, and Amelia Schisler

 

Eighth Grade: Levi Possin, Emmett Cowdin, Dom Winters, Genna Mueller, Nate Adams, Ayden Bennett, Ava Place, and Catherine Manthe

 

The students then competed in the word problem round which was won by seventh grader Charlotte Haekenkamp.

 

To close out the competition, the students were placed into teams and competed against each other.  

 

The team portion was won by a seventh grade team of: Waylon Schuch, Liam Schisler, and Miranda Bonnifield.

 

To cap the morning off, the students walked to Purple Goose and enjoyed a well deserved lunch!  

 

It was a very strenuous and enjoyable morning!
