New county emergency notification system

Emergency county-wide notifications are now being distributed using ReGroup, a mass notification system which can send messages to hundreds of recipients at once. ReGroup replaces the system formerly in use,“CodeRED.” There is no guarantee registrations made with the previous service will transfer to ReGroup.
This means any county residents who wish to receive future information regarding emergencies, threatening weather patterns, public safety notifications and other time-sensitive messages should register their phone numbers with ReGroup. The registration process offers people the opportunity to select what types of notices they would like to receive.
With severe weather season approaching, the county Emergency Management office encourages everyone to register at their earliest opportunity.
