Ruthie Webster, write-in candidate for Waldorf City Council, enters the race

Ruthie Webster is running for city council in Waldorf, Minnesota. Webster has owned Haven Studios Salon for the past five years, a business that focuses on hair and lashes. She also proudly works with her daughter, Hattie. She has four adult children and three grandkids.

Webster stated she originally had no desire to run in this election but a friend of hers who was running, Charlie Barnes, had to step down from the city council election for personal reasons. Said Barnes, “I will still be on the ballot, but if I am elected, I plan to decline the position. I am throwing my support behind the write-in candidate Ruthie Webster; she will fill that position nicely.” Barnes explained that, as he considered who might have the personality traits which suit a city council member, he contacted Webster and asked her to consider running a write-in campaign. Webster says that until that moment she never gave it any thought.

She’s been local her whole life and she’s not dissatisfied with anything or anyone currently on the council. She’s always lived in the Waldorf area, and has been within city limits for the past 14 years. Said Webster, “I have a business in town. I’ve been a local my whole life, so I am invested in this city and the people who live here. We’ve recently opened a new park for the kids to play in. Our streets have gotten a new sewer and water system. There are a lot of great opportunities right now and I would like to be a part of them.”
