Sno-Secas

It was a fitting day for the Waseca County Sno-Secas Club Ride Saturday, Jan. 21. The event took place as part of the Waseca Sleigh and Cutter Festival.

The ride started at the Waseca American Legion, with registration taking place at 10 a.m. Many people enjoyed a warmup and a drink inside before hitting the trails.

At around 11, 31 registered snowmobiles departed along a path which followed along the south side of the train tracks, riding through the eastern part of the county’s countryside before making a stop in New Richland.

The Sno-Secas Club is responsible for helping keep the snowmobile trails around Waseca County cleared and groomed throughout the winter. The group meets every first Wednesday of the month at the Waseca American Legion to go over business. The group is always looking for new members and volunteers.

Aside from the club ride, the Sno-Secas are also sponsors and supporters of the Mike Filzen Memorial Poker Run taking place February 14, the Toners Lake Vintage Ride on Feb. 18, and the annual Vintage Snowmobile Show and Ice Drags on Feb. 25. The Sno-Secas are sponsored by the Waseca American Legion, the Waseca VFW, and Discover Waseca Tourism.
