TEAM recognizes October students

TEAM Academy’s October Students of the Month, nominated by their teachers, were announced at the CARES Assembly on Friday, October 28. They are Liam Dagel, Zabella Wald, Brynlee Ahles, Rafael Reyes, Riley McGuire, Keira Homgren, and Wyatt Partain.

Partain, sixth grade, wants to work in IT when he grows up, and enjoys coding. About a month ago, he says, he started learning the coding language Python. His favorite subject is math, his favorite food is calamari, and his favorite color is blue. His best advice is “Just because you haven’t succeeded yet, doesn’t mean you won’t succeed.”

Homgren, fifth grade, wants to be a teacher, and her favorite subject is writing. Her favorite food is spaghetti and her favorite color is pink. Asked about advice she’d give, Homgren replied, “Somebody told me before, you can do whatever you put your mind to.”

McGuire, fourth grade, said his favorite subject is math because “you don’t have to do much reading.” He agreed he prefers numbers to words, though he added that he still enjoys reading books. His favorite colors are light blue and light green, and he wants to be a farmer when he grows up because he likes all the big equipment. His advice when someone feels stuck in life is “Just always try your best.”

Reyes, third grade, is a fan of learning multiplication and division in his math classes. His favorite food is pizza, his favorite color is red, and when he’s not in school he likes to play soccer and football with his dad and two brothers. When he grows up, Reyes wants to be a police officer.

Ahles, second grade, likes to be creative so her favorite subjects at school are art and music. Her favorite food is spaghetti, and her favorite color is “all of them”. She doesn’t know yet what she wants to grow up to be, she’s just enjoying being a kid. For fun she likes to play video games, have sleepovers, and spend time with her brother.

Wald, first grade, says her favorite subject is math, her favorite colors are pink and black, and her favorite foods are gummy bears and tacos. She likes new shoes, she said as she showed off her bright orange sneakers, and she’s a dancer. When she grows up she wants to be a ballet teacher.

Dagel, kindergarten, likes math when his class practices counting. His favorite color is red, and his favorite food is McDonald’s. For fun, he likes to play with Legos, and when he grows up he wants to be “probably a Lego person, but maybe Spiderman.”
