Judy Blatter

Our dear mother, Judy Blatter, age 80, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The last of four children, Judy was born to Leonard and Lucille Bauman in Waseca MN.  She married in 1960, moved around southern MN in support of her husband’s farming profession, and had three children.  Shortly after the birth of her third child, Judy divorced and became a single mother.  At that time, Judy worked at the Faribault State School and Hospital.  In 1973, she moved back to Waseca with her children.  Over the years, she was employed at Carl’s Snack Shop, Birdseye, Misheks, EF Johnson, and Itron.  Judy often worked a second job, Mediacom and Walmart, on evenings and weekends.  

In 2011, Judy retired to southern CA to be near her daughter.  In early 2023, she moved back to MN with her daughter’s family.  

Judy enjoyed travel, cooking, shopping, family game night, interior decorating, and going to casinos.  

Judy was preceded in death by both parents, her daughter in law Rohnna (Brian) Blatter, and two grandsons; Nicholas Schneekloth (Gary) and Derrick Blatter (Brian).

Judy leaves behind her three children, Gary (Lori) Blatter, Dawn (David) Nagel, Brian (Tracie) Blatter; six grandchildren; Katherine Thies, Anthony Blatter, Jennifer (Mark) Lloyd, Matthew (Jenna) Blatter, Alex Nagel, and Kassandra (Steven) Hoffman; fourteen great grandchildren; three siblings, Jean Paschall, Leonard (Margaret) Bauman Jr., Barbara Wheelock. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
