Dorothy "Dottie" Olson

Dorothy "Dottie" Olson, 79 of Winona, MIN, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.

 

Dorothy Patricia was bom January 24, 1947, in Clovis, New Mexico to Dorothy (Fritz and Edward Ritchie.

 

She graduated from Waseca High School, Waseca, MN in 1965. In 1967, she married Virgil A. Olson; they lived in Owatonna, MN and later divorced. Together they had four children: Lorrinda, Berton, (Allison), Sheila (Richard), and Bryon (Lacey).

 

Dottie received her A.A. Degree from Rochester Community College in 1989 and continued to study business and health into the 1990's, receiving certificates for technical medical assistant, and certified nurse assistant.

 

She was employed with various agencies and businesses in southern Minnesota caring for the elderly, disabled, foster children, un-wed mothers, and the Mayo Clinic. She moved to Winona in 2001 to be with her 'soulmate' Don Agnst. She was also employed by Benedictine - Calista Court Adult Center and Winona State University.

 

Funeral services were 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, with Pastor Kathy Young officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.

 

Visitation began at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
