Waseca Braves win at Blue Earth

The Waseca Braves are not a one-man baseball team.

 

But Tyson Reger sure made it look that way.

 

Reger pitched a complete-game three hitter and led the Waseca offense with three hits in an 11-0 triumph at Blue Earth Sunday, June 21.

 

"It was a good win," said Braves coach Tink Larson. "We jumped out to a big lead early. We hit the ball well as a team."

 

Reger, meanwhile, improved his pitching record to 3-0, striking out 12 and walking none in a game shortened to seven innings by the 10-run rule.

 

"Tyson pitched very well again," said Larson.

 

Offensively, the big inning for the Braves was the second, when they batted around the order while plating seven runs. Waseca totaled 13 hits while stranding six baserunners. Each team had three errors.

 

Reger went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in two runs. Cory Huirias and Kyle Waugh were both 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Adding one hit apiece were Keato Roeker, Kelvin Nelson, Jimmy Loonan, Ryan Hanson and Danny Cromer. Nelson had two RBIs.

 

The Braves, 4-4, began a four-game homestand Wednesday against Albert Lea. They host North St. Paul Saturday at 6 p.m. and entertain Minnesota Lake Sunday at 2 before facing Cleveland Wednesday, July 1 at 7:30 at Tink Larson Field.
