Waseca Braves venture for season sweep

The Waseca Braves amateur baseball team ventured to Waterville Sunday in search of a rare season sweep of the Indians.
They fell just short.
It was close until the seventh inning when Waterville put five runs on the scoreboard on the way to a 13-7 victory, evening Waseca's season record to 7-7.
"We hit the ball fairly well, but we got off to a bad start and that didn't help," said Braves coach Tink Larson.
Tyson Reger continued to hit the ball very well, going 3-for-5 and scoring two runs. Keato Roeker was 2-for-5, Cody Huiras and Ryan Hanson 2-for-3. Logan Reger and Kyle Waugh also hit safely.
Roeker, Payton Garza and Hanson pitched for Waseca.
The playoffs start on Wednesday, July 29. The Braves won’t know until July 27 if they are home or away.
There are playoff games on Friday, July 31 and Sunday, August 2.
The Braves are home Saturday at 2 against Blue Earth. They play Sunday at 2 at Morristown.
