Stanley Krippner

Stanley “Stan” Herbert Krippner, age 84, of Waseca, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Stan was born on December 31, 1941, in Waseca, the son of Herbert and Esther (Lutgens) Krippner. He grew up on the family farm in Deerfield Township, Steele County, where he began his education at the rural country school near his home. He later attended Owatonna Public Schools and graduated from Owatonna High School with the Class of 1960.

Following high school, Stan began working at Jostens in Owatonna and EF Johnson Company in Waseca before starting a long career in the printing industry. He worked for Brown Printing in Waseca, NCS in Owatonna, Impressions Inc. in Minneapolis, and concluded his career much as he began—working in printing—retiring from Print Craft in New Brighton in 2006.

Stan enjoyed driving through the countryside and often stopped at the home farm site to sit for a while, watching the world go by. He took pride in keeping the place tidy, removing pests and appreciating the wildlife he loved to see. He also had a lifelong fondness for sports cars, frequently trading for a new model and enjoying the thrill of each new car he brought home.

Stan was proud of his 44 years of sobriety and was a devoted participant in AA in Owatonna, where he found purpose in encouraging others on their own journeys. Later in life, after moving to Realife Cooperative in Waseca, he enjoyed visiting with fellow residents and never hesitated to share his opinions—often with spirited debate, even when he knew he might not be right. Although he could have stared in Grumpy Old Men at times, he had a soft spot for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved following their activities and accomplishments.

Stan is survived by his children: Gerald “Jerry” Krippner of Bloomington, Robin (Blake) Nelson of Waseca, Todd Krippner of Louisville, KY, and Kevin Krippner of Rochester; grandchildren: Kelvin (Katie) Nelson and Shanly (Adam) Rehman; great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Rocky Nelson; siblings: Raymond Krippner of Deerfield Township, Karen (Gerard) LaFond of Owatonna, Virginia Watkins of Rochester, Roger Krippner of Great Falls, MT, and Neil Krippner of Rochester; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Stan’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Interment will take place at Deerfield German Cemetery in Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota. Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 9:30 AM and continue until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday.
