Virginia Wobschall

Virginia "Virgie" Louise Wobschall, age 83 of Waseca, died on the morning of Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the New Richland Care Center.

 

Virginia was born in Montgomery on October 11, 1942, to parents August and Agnes Malecha.  She attended school in Montgomery.  Following her high school graduation, she was united in marriage to Lowell Wobschall on September 22, 1962, in Waseca.  Over the years she worked at the E.F. Johnson Company, Herter’s, Quality Print, and finally at Clear Lake Press until her retirement.  Virginia enjoyed working with horses, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, reading mystery novels, and following the Minnesota Vikings, but more than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Trinity-Wilton Lutheran Church for most of her life.

 

Virginia is survived by two children, Nicolas (Rachel) Wobschall of Waseca, and Heather Marrero of Waseca; five grandchildren, Dylan Wobschall, Derek (Autumn) Wobschall, Megan Wobschall all of Waseca, Maria Marrero of Ellendale, and  Michael Marrero of Owatonna; and one sister, Yvonne Gehring of Texas.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; and five siblings, Charlotte Pleiss, Jacqueline Malecha, Lallie Dahl, Roman Malecha, and August Malecha.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Services in Waseca, with Rev. Michael Grannis officiating.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
