David Williams

David Lee Williams, age 74, of Owatonna passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at his home. 

Born on January 16, 1950 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, David was the son of James and Hazel (Berardi) Williams. He graduated from Florence High School in Colorado with the class of 1968. On June 5, 1971, Dave was united in marriage to Carolyn Lucerna at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Rockvale, CO. He worked at several lumber yards in Canon City, CO, totaling over twenty years. After moving to Waseca, he began working at Associated Lumber Mart until he retired in 2012. 

Dave was a family man through and through. He enjoyed his nightly walks with his bride. If he wasn’t working in his yard, you could find him at a soccer game of Maia’s, baseball game of Andrew’s, or in Iowa City spending time with Haley, Pat, Meghan and Nat. He wanted nothing more than to be with his family. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. 

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Williams of Owatonna; daughters, Haley (Patrick) Sinn of Iowa City, IA, Crystal (Brad) Bartelt of New Richland; grandchildren, Meghan, Nathanial, Maia, Andrew; sister, Patricia (Mark) Knox of Pueblo West, CO; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Williams; grandparents; sister, Jean Newell; brothers, James Williams, Larry Williams and Elton Sells. 

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
