Robert “Bob” Eugene Miller

Robert “Bob” Eugene Miller, age 91 of Waseca, died Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Lakeshore Inn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
 
He was born on October 2, 1933, in Janesville, a son of George and Helen (Bucek) Miller. At a young age, Bob had to leave school and start working on a farm to help support his family. While attending church at St. John Lutheran Church as a young adult, he met Jean Carole Strand who he would later marry at the church on April 16, 1961. Together they built their lives and raised their children in Waseca. In addition to being a farm laborer in his youth, he also worked in the warehouse for Herter’s Inc., in Waseca; he enjoyed snowmobile racing and would become a race driver for Herter’s. He worked for the City of Waseca in the Street Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 17 years, before his retirement. In his retirement he did some piecework for Barrie Archery. Bob was a very hard worker who believed with hard work and self-accountability, one could accomplish anything. He was very self-reliant and took all the means necessary to provide for his family. He was kindhearted and known for his daily morning walks around Clear and Loon Lakes in Waseca. He was a farmer at heart who was proud of his garden. He enjoyed snowmobile racing, hunting, fishing, all things outdoorsman,(especially being at “the cabin” up north), softball, bowling, always being present for his children and grandchildren’s Bluejay sporting events and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.
 
He is survived by his wife; his children, Michael (Dawn) Miller of Plymouth, MN, Steven (Jorge) Miller of San Diego, CA, James (Jodi) Miller of Waseca; grandchildren, Katelyn (Jeff) Sprunk, Aaron Miller, Joel Miller, McKenna Miller;great-grandchildren, Summer and Sonnie Sprunk; sister-in-law, Roxy Miller and brother-in-law Orville Bolduan. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, George Jr. (Judy) Miller, Richard Miller, Kenneth Miller, Laurice (Lavern) Tetzloff, Loraine (Arnold) Knutson, Ruth (William) Nelson, Harriet (Leo) Roe, Mary Bolduan, Sharon (Wayne) Huntington and Linda (Ray) Mudgett.
 
Visitation was held, June 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Funeral service was be held at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Ashley Kuhlman officiating. Interment was held at the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.
