Ronald Fuchs

Ronald David Fuchs, age 74 of Waseca, died in the early morning of Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Ron was born on November 4, 1948 in Wells to Alvin and Marie (Demmen) Fuchs.  He graduated from Wells High School before serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.  Ron received several awards during his military service, and was a Purple Heart recipient.  After his honorable discharge, Ron attended Albert Lea Vo-Tech where he was trained in mechanical drafting.  On November 30, 1968 Ron married Adoris Meyer at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells.  He went on to work for the E.F. Johnson Company in Waseca before his retirement.  Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering in the garage, and building things with his grandchildren.  He was also known to friends and family to be a master of silicone caulk… and there wasn’t much he couldn’t “fix”.  He was a long-time member and former commander of Waseca’s Sweet-Sommers VFW Post 1642, and led the effort for hundreds of military funeral honors.
Ron is survived by his wife Adoris of Waseca; two sons, Christopher (Roben) Fuchs of Waseca and Matthew (Cara) Fuchs of Shakopee; three grandchildren, Bella, Braden, and Brody Fuchs of Shakopee; and three sisters, Nancy (Larry) Nelson of Freeborn, Linda (Cliff) McGuire of Grand Rapids, and Shirley (David) Fuchs of Conger.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and one brother, Kevin Fuchs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the third street chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Services in Waseca, with Rev. Jillene Gallatin officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca, and a reception will be held at Sweet-Sommers VFW Post 1642 in Waseca.  dsofuneral.com
