NRHEG cross country teams open season
Wobbrock places second overall
The NRHEG High School cross country runners participated in the Tiger Trail Meet at the River Bend Nature Center on Friday Aug. 22. Schools in attendance were Medford, LeSeuer-Henderson, USC, and NRHEG.
The Panthers did not have a complete boys’ team as some kids were participating at the state fair. Julieann Wobbrock led the girls' team, finishing second with a time of 23:00.
Holly Bartness and Amelia Duryee finished 11th and 12th, respectively, with times of 31:28 and 31:29.
Devlin McWilliams was the lone competitor for the boys, finishing 18th with a time of 29:05.
LeSeuer-Henderson won both the boys' and girls' team scoring.
"It was a beautiful day for a run," said Panthers coach Larry Nydegger. "The younger kids gained some experience. Julieann Improved her time on the course from last year. It was nice to get that first taste of competition as we get into the larger meets."
