Waseca Braves beat Lake Royals

The Waseca Braves snapped a losing skid by defating the Minnesota Lake Royals 6-2 Sunday at Tink Larson Field in Waseca.
"It was nice to get back in the win column," said Braves coach Tink Larson.
Tyson Reger registered his fifth straight complete-game pitching win, all with at least 10 strikeouts. He yielded but one earned run.
"Reger pitched another great game," said Larson.
Reger also had two hits, as did Chris Glynn. Kelvin Nelson was 4-4 with three runs scored.
"Kelvin had a great day at the plate," commented Larson.
Also registering hits for the Braves were Keaton Roeker, Payton Garza and Kyle Waugh.
With the win, the Braves improved their record to 8-6.
On Friday, the Braves faced Montgomery and fell 5-2 in a seven-inning game at Larson Field.
"It was a great game for five innings," said Larson, as both pitchers threw no-hit ball.
Montgomery scored three unearned runs in the seventh inning to win it.
Ryan Hanson took the pitching loss despite giving up only three hits.
Roeker and Glynn had the Braves' lone hits. Waseca stranded five baserunners to four for Montgomery. Waseca had three fielding errors, Montgomery one.
"We only played seven innings, which is all Montgomery wanted to play," said Larson. "Hanson pitched well after not throwing for a month due to a sore back."
Last Wednesday, the Braves fell 11-0 to Blue Earth at Larson Field.
The Pirates scored three in the sixth, three in the eighth, and five in the ninth.
Sabastian Teague pitched for the first time in nearly three weeks and threw five scoreless innings for the Braves. The Pirates' Brandyn Olsen gave up two hits and struck out 12 in 8 innings.
"We have to hit better," said Larson.
After a Wednesday home game against Cleveland at 7:30 p.m., the Braves play Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lake Crystal. They face North Mankato at home Wednesday, July 2 at 7:30.
